Prayers Used in Services at Farnham & St. John’s

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

For all people in their daily life and work.

          For our families, friends, and neighbors, and for those who are alone.   

For this community, the nation, and the world;            
          For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace.

For the just and proper use of your creation; 

For the victims of hunger, fear, injustice, and oppression. Especially those afflicted by extreme human cruelty because of their gender, age, race, religion or nationality.  

For all who are in danger, sorrow, or any kind of trouble. 

For healing and/or comfort.

For our nation’s security and all who serve. 

We pray for all who have died, that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom, especially those who “die suddenly and unprepared” (The Great Litany BCP 149).                  

For any other needs and concerns of this congregation.   

We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life:        

For the peace and unity of the Church of God:
          For all who proclaim the Gospel, and all who seek the Truth.  

For Michael our Presiding Bishop, and Shannon, Susan & Ted our Bishops, for all ordained and lay ministers in Farnham, St. John’s, and our Anglican worldwide communion, and for the priest God is preparing to come to us.

          For all who serve God in The Church in the world.   

 

A Prayer from our Joint Search Committee in our Time of Transition

Almighty God, look graciously on our congregation as we go about the task of choosing a new priest. Guide the Search Committee through the grace of the Holy Spirit and grant them patience and wisdom to discern who is called to the ministry of our churches. We ask that you give all of us clear minds and open hearts as we pursue this endeavor. All this we pray through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
